In this article, you will learn how to design a custom Lead Capture Widget skin using a streamlined interface and real-time preview. This lets you create a professional-looking lead capture form for your business, helping you attract more leads and maintain consistent branding. Business owners and staff members with appropriate permissions can configure these settings.
To change what staff see when adding a lead from the Staff Back Office, see Add a new lead and manage the Add Lead form.
Key tips
Widgets embedded on Presence websites automatically adopt the Presence website's design, overriding any custom skin styling configured here. Only structural changes to Lead Capture Widget skins are displayed. Styling overrides won't apply.
Google and Facebook analytics tracking for your Lead Capture Widget are enabled from the Client Portal settings.
All new clients that sign up through the Lead Capture Widget are automatically assigned a Prospect client type in your business. When a free Purchase Option is offered to clients who sign up through the Lead Capture Widget, it is displayed on the Activity page on the client's profile along with the name of the Lead Capture Widget.
After a prospect submits the lead form, you can show a thank-you message, redirect them to another page, or do both. When both are configured, the thank-you message appears immediately and the redirect happens after a 2-second delay. When only a message is configured, the prospect stays on the same page.
If you have unsaved changes, a You have unsaved changes notice is displayed at the bottom of the page. Make sure to save before leaving the page.

Share a direct link to your Lead Capture form
If you manage a Lead Capture skin and want to share your form through channels where embedding HTML isn't possible, you can copy a direct link right from the Embed Code tab. This gives you a ready-to-share URL you can use in email campaigns, SMS messages, Instagram and Linktree bios, QR codes on printed materials, and anywhere else a developer or website isn't an option.
Each skin has its own unique direct link, so if you have multiple skins set up for different locations or campaigns, each one links to the correct form.
To copy the direct link for a Lead Capture skin:
Open the App Drawer
then click View All > Setup > Website Widgets > Lead Capture.Note: If you're using the legacy version of this widget, found under Setup > Unsupported Widgets, we recommend switching to the updated version instead. The updated version uses a modern framework for additional functionality and resolves common issues like flickering or improper rendering.
Click the skin you want to share.
Click the Embed Code tab.
Under Direct link, click the copy icon inside the Shareable URL field. A Link copied confirmation appears briefly.
Paste the link wherever you want to share it. The direct link opens your Lead Capture form exactly as it's configured for that skin, including your fields, branding, and any redirect or thank-you message settings.
Redirect after submission
To redirect prospects to another webpage after they submit the form:
In the settings panel, expand Lead form behavior.
Set Redirect user after submission to ON.
In the Redirect URL on Submission field, enter the full URL you want to redirect prospects to. The URL must begin with
https://.
Under Open redirect in, select either Same tab or New tab.
If both a thank-you message and a redirect URL are configured, the thank-you message is shown immediately after submission and the redirect occurs after a 2-second delay.
Add a custom comment field
You can give clients a space to share notes or questions by adding a custom comment field to your Lead Capture Widget. This helps your staff follow up more effectively. Before you can add the field to a widget, you need to create it in your client profile fields settings.
Create a custom comment field
To create a custom comment field:
Open the App Drawer
then click View All > Setup > Clients > Client Profile Fields.
Click Add Custom Field.
Under Field Type, select Text from the list.
Under Field Name, enter Comments and select Public.
After you select Public, you'll see the following options:
Required — Select this option if you want to make this comment field required.
Display At Registration — Select this option if you want to display this comment field every time a client registers with your business.
Under Default Value, fill out the information you want to display by default, or leave the field empty.
Under Rows, set the number of rows to determine the size of the comment area.
Click Save.
Add the comment field to a Lead Capture Widget
To add the comment field to a Lead Capture Widget:
Open the App Drawer
then click View All > Setup > Website Widgets > Lead Capture.
Click the skin to which you want to add the comment field.
In the settings panel on the right, expand Form settings.
Under Fields, set the Comments option to ON. The Required checkbox next to Comments will automatically be selected, making this a mandatory field when filling out the lead capture form.
Click Save.
