The Cash Closeout Report is a staff report that displays a list of staff members who completed cash closeouts for your business during the selected date range.
How voids and refunds affect the Cash Sales Balance
The Cash Sales Balance reflects cash sales processed within that closeout period. If a cash sale is voided or refunded after its original closeout period has ended, the void is applied to the closeout period in which it was processed, not the period in which the original sale occurred. This can make the Cash Sales Balance for the current period appear lower than the total of cash sales made during that window.
Example: A $50.00 cash sale is made just before a closeout on March 1. The sale is counted in the March 1 closeout. The sale is voided the next day, which falls inside the March 1 to March 15 closeout period. The $50.00 void is subtracted from the March 15 Cash Sales Balance.
If your Cash Sales Balance seems lower than your manual cash total, check whether any sales from just before the previous closeout were voided or refunded after that closeout was completed.
