You can set your business's currency and taxes for products and services based on your region. If taxes are included in service prices, you don't need to set tax values. Any taxes applied will appear in the relevant report’s summary.
Key tips
Taxes are applied to each product, pass, and membership at checkout, with rounding done per item, not the subtotal. This is important for carts with several items.
In compliance with local laws pertaining to fair trade, taxes are included in the total price of each item in your online store when you select UK, Australia, or New Zealand as your business’s country. The subtotal amount in your shopping cart is inclusive of all taxes.
If you configure two or more taxes and apply them to the same product, service, or membership, each tax appears as its own line item on the client's receipt, showing its name and calculated amount, rather than being combined into a single tax total. This helps meet regional compliance requirements, such as Québec’s Revenu Québec, which requires GST (Goods and Services Tax) and QST (Quebec Sales Tax) to be individually identifiable on receipts. If only one tax applies to a transaction, the receipt shows a single tax line, as before.
